Also this year Cartier did not miss the appointment with the most important and renowned event in Milan, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (14 – 19 April 2010), presenting yet another inspiring initiative that reinforces and underlines the Maison’s strong bonds with the world of design and creative expression.

As for the previous two years, Cartier turned again to the Creative Academy, this time commissioning the students to design the setting for some of the windows of its historic Milanese boutique located in via Montenapoleone.

The young international talents were invited to reinterpret one of the most emblematic and powerful icon of Cartier’s imagery: the Panther.

They  could freely draw inspiration from the huge heritage of representations of this theme, from the early images of its first appearance in 1914, to the most recent and modern creations.

The 20 designers gave life to as many as 44 different and very original projects. A judging panel made up of Alessandro Mendini and members from Cartier Internationational and Cartier Italy selected the project that was to be realized and was to remain on show for the whole Design Week. The choice fell on the captivating and elegant  installation created by Augusta Maffioli.
